In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, WWE Superstar Cesaro launched his intent to the WWE Universe by way of Seth Rollins and the road to Wrestlemania. After penning a new contract with the WWE, fans have made no secret of their desire to see the Swiss Superstar achieve a lengthy title run. The main projection at that time being centered around a desire for a storyline pitting Cesaro against Roman Reigns. However, with the Universal Championship match now being spoken for at Wrestlemania 37 as Roman Reigns squares off with the Men's 2021 Royal Rumble Winner Edge, Cesaro has openly stated that he'd love to face Seth Rollins one on one officially - at Wrestlemania!
Since making the happy decision to stay with the WWE, Cesaro, has been on a one man mission hunting down his own Championship opportunity. As the road to Wrestlemania winds it's way to the flagship PPV, Cesaro has been setting Friday Night Smackdown on fire, week after week, becoming quite a point of contention for Seth Rollins. With an increase in viewership ratings for Smackdown, it would seem that I'm not alone in my elation to potentially see Cesaro square off with Rollins at Wrestlemania as well as seeing Sasha Banks defend her coveted Smackdown Women's Championship against the Women's 2021 Royal Rumble Winner, Bianca Belair…
The combined potential of Cesaro and Seth Rollins in a singles match is in my opinion match of the night quality potential if officially added to Wrestlemania 37 instead of a rumor of pure speculation and want. Both men are no strangers to each other as they've risen up the ranks from the Independents to WWE. Both have consistently sacrificed for this business and have dedicated themselves to their craft. By definition- immensely talented men.
Cesaro and Rollins simultaneously cultivated their own versatile in ring styles as they've grown within the industry. Throughout the years, in my mind, from the time I met both men on the indies, its night and day. Over time they have built an impeccably valuable trust equity with a caliber so far above the norm and seldom matched. Daniel Bryan, Edge, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, Seth Rollins… Very good company.
Cesaro versus Seth Rollins one on one would be a great addition to join the two officially announced championship matches of Sasha Banks versus Bianca Belair, Roman Reigns versus Edge… With rumors circulating that Daniel Bryan may be thrown into the mix making a Triple Threat match of Cesaro versus Seth Rollins versus Daniel Bryan, let's hope this is split into two match of the night worthy singles matches instead. Especially with Cesaro and Rollins already evolving with each passing Friday Night Smackdown.
