Edge and Christian Don't Get Asuka's Hype

This should add fuel to the fire for those who haven't been fans of Asuka's first week in.

Edge and Christian were talking about the latest call up to the WWE roster on their podcast. Edge says that while she's good, he doesn't get what the big deal is.

“I’m sure I’ll get lambasted for this, but I don’t get the Asuka thing." he said. "I really don’t. She’s fine and she’s solid but I don’t know. I’ve never really understood the hype..more than that what I didn’t get was using an ankle lock on a night when Kurt Angle is stepping back in a WWE ring for the first time in eleven years and it’s actually being used in the main event as something pretty pivotal. Why do you do it as a spot that goes nowhere?”

Christian agreed, though he admits he's never seen a full match. He praised her in other areas, however.

“I’ve seen clips and I’ve never seen a full, full match" Chrisitan said. "So, maybe I have maybe I’ve seen one or two but I think that when there’s a lot of hype and that sort of thing it makes it almost harder sometimes for the talent to kinda live up to the packages and to the hype and they’re expecting something completely different than something they’ve seen before. And that’s really hard to do. I liked her persona, she seemed really comfortable with what she’s doing but yeah there were some certain things and there weren’t necessarily super crisp and anything like that and that and it could be the first time, it could’ve been the first time she’s worked with Emma or whatever”

It wasn't the first time Emma faced Asuka, but it was Asuka's first match on the Raw roster. While she won the match this past Sunday at WWE TLC, some feel that the match went too long, and on top of that Asuka rarely sold for anyone on the NXT brand, yet a lot of the match was Emma working her over.
