Triple H speaks to media ahead of NXT Takeover 30
- Triple H kicks off the call and reminds us that five years ago he said if they were still doing Takeover, he'd consider it a success, and here they are.
- Triple H believes that Pat McAfee will BRING IT on Saturday. No word on if it's already been BROUGHTEN
- Triple H is very happy with how Thunderdome will end up, but they don't need more on their plate. He puts over his relationship with Full Sail, but says "never say never." He says they miss the fans and the energy so much.
- HHH says that they're looking into all avenues to improve safety for performers and staff while they're doing shows.
- Triple H won't comment on Renee Young's status, and will leave that to her. He says she's been awesome, and great to work with.
- Triple H says Summerslam on a boat had about as much of a chance as anything else they did.
- Triple H didn't know Lars Sullivan was putting out workout videos and doesn't have an update on Lars.
- Triple H knows Randy Orton wants to work with some NXT talent, but moving things around is more difficult than people realize. HHH fields calls all day long about talent wanting to do stuff in NXT and vice versa.
- Triple H tells me that a WWE Draft is happening later this year, confirming Fightful's report. He says the differences in mentality of NXT's roster and moving wrestlers between brands will be reflected accordingly.
- Triple H puts over Karrion Kross big time. Fightful Select has a lot more on this coming soon.
- He says NXT had the benefit of knowing Matt Riddle was coming up and got to plan accordingly and book the Fight Pit.
- Triple H sees the ratings chatter, but he's focused on NXT. He's just glad people are interested and passionate. He says they're looking at a variety of different things, and not jumping to conclusions. There are a lot of factors, and negativity and arguments.
- He says he misses the true reactions from the crowd, because that matters more.
- Triple H says Pat McAfee is a great athlete. He calls McAfee a natural based on the training that he's seen.
- Triple H says sometimes it's hard to get people to let go of what made them when they get to NXT. They think that's what NXT wants and sometimes won't let it go. He says Bronson Reed went through some of that.
- He says Keith Lee was telling HHH how proud he is of Bronson Reed.
- He closes the call by talking about all of the new indie content being put on the WWE Network. He hopes it opens up more opportunities. They've been working on it for a few years.
